A Call to Hearts

I received an interesting email from one of the station managers this afternoon asking for something I think is so suited for this group it cannot be ignored.

The email reads as follows:

"Hello everyone,

Remember how fun Valentine’s Day was when you were a kid?  You couldn’t wait to get to school to see all the Valentine’s Day cards you’d get from your friends!

We want all kids to have that awesome feeling, so Star 106.5 has just announced Monica Lowe’s Valentine’s Day Cards for Kids.  It’s easy.  We’re asking our listeners to make Valentines for kids who are stuck in the hospital on Valentine’s Day, missing out on getting cards from their friends at school.   Monica will hand deliver them to the hospital for the kids who need a smile.

If you’re crafty, know someone who is, or could ask your child’s art teacher about getting the kids at your school involved you would be doing a great thing!

Here’s a link to find out more!

or this:

I think this is a wonderful idea and hope you all could help out and spread the word if possible.

Thanks

Derrick

  3. Thanks to everyone that is helping with this. I personally am working up a kit to make 360 cards by the due date.

The goal is to provide 40 cards the every kid they visit. the more cards the more kids/hospitals they can go to.

    1. The original date was the 6th. They are just trying to make sure they are in time to pack them for the kids. Last count they are trying to get 110 kids valentines packs put together.

  8. Nevermind, got them in! Thanks Monica for taking time to meet with us in the lobby. It meant alot as does this gesture. Hoping the cards put a smile on faces. If possible look into The Sacramento Children's Home off Sutterville off hwy 99. They need spirits lifted as well. Good luck with delivery and where can we view pictures?
