Of Spring and baseball and giveaways

Well, the pitchers and catchers and everyone else have arrived at spring training and this means days and nights spent at the ball park are soon upon us.

So with that, here is the giveaway I have been speaking about.

In a shameless bid to increase followers and get general feedback, I am throwing up some mailing goodies.  Make no mistake folks, this will be a fun one.

Over the past 2 months I have been slowly acquiring some postcards.  Much like the black history month mailing I did.  I am sending out 80 of the cards below.

These will be going out to every person listed on Good Mail Day as of Feb 28, 2012.  As well as most of the people that received them on the last mailing.  Mainly the blogs that I follow.

So.. You ask, what's the catch to entering this fabulous giveaway and what's in it for moi??

Glad you asked!  Here's what you need to do.  The next time you hear Little orphan annie, get out your decoder rings.. OK, not that but something similar.  When you get the post cards I mailed.  Reply.  You know that whole send a letter get a letter.  Second, follow the site. Third - Make a comment. (this just lets me know your paying attention :)

Pretty simple eh? (threw that one in the the Canadians - being multi national and all).  I will be mailing the overseas cards by March 2 to allow for travel time and the local (US) by the 11th.

Now on to the goodies.

One full pack of 20 of stamped post cards.  Just like the ones I sent out (except pre stamped).

And what do we have behind door number 2 Johnny??

One Lapel Pin

And finally for the big prize..  Your choice of 1 FULL sheet of either

OR..
Now you say "well what if I'm not on the mailing?"  Glad you asked!  If you were not in the mailing and you would still like to enter, send me a postcard or letter, make a comment and follow the site. Just like the above description.  That's it.

So there ya have it.  I will draw the winner by random number generator some time in MID APRIL.  This will or should allow enough time for stuff sent to get to me.  Is it good enough for the first giveaway.  What kind of things would you like to see?

In the words of Red Green " remember, If you can't be handsome, at least be handy"

  1. LOL! You should be on radio. Too funny. Wow! Hope I win a lapel pin, or the stamps. I am partial to the second from the bottom but I like everything. How 'bout we sing "Take me out to the ball game?" Oh, snap a lap! That's it!

Nice give away, Dodson, D. You do everything big, don't you? Wow, again. Will help spread the werd.

  3. This is one of the best give-aways I've encountered, not just due to the goodies themselves, but because of the presentation. Put a smile on my face and sent me down to the basement to look for my decoder ring.

I thought I had signed up to follow your blog some time ago and you jut weren't posting anything. Duh. I really did it this time.

    1. Thank you for the kind words. Always appreciated. I have some ideas about future giveaways. Just figuring out how to put them together. Planning and acquiring the stuff is always a challenge as I use stuff that is no longer readily available, so quantities are tough.

      Thanks for reading

  9. I received your postcard today, I'll be sending a reply this coming week! But I'm not sure about the prize? Can you use American stamps in England? I've personally never tried it...?

    1. I am impressed that the card got there so quickly. I doubt you can use the US postage in other countries. But what a neat thing to stick on your outgoing from england :) You'll have a full sheet of unique stamps..

    2. You could use the stamps on return mail, send out requests for autographs and include a stamped self addressed envelope for them to send the autograph back in.

  12. No interest in the baseball theme. And I certainly don't need more stamps! I have more than I will ever use (but am still accumulating them.) Hallowe'en themed items though...

  13. What great stamps! Sometimes I wish we had more to choose from here in Germany.

  14. That's so generous of you! Hmm... they'll definitely make a great collection. But still, I can't use any of them if I win them. I'll keep my fingers crossed though. :)
