Return Labels and such

You have probably received some of the seasonal return address labels from (insert charity here) looking for various donations this time of year.  Be it St. Judes (i do give to this one) or Ducks Unlimited (yep they got me as well - Hey I have hunting dogs that like a duck dinner every now and then, but only if they get it themselves).

Have any of you had stamps made?

I was using some for awhile that I had done at shutterfly.  Needed to use up some free money there and "thought" I would have gone through them before moving.  That didn't work out. But now that we are home owners and will DIE in this house.  I figured I needed something more permanent to go with the house.  So I ordered one from 2impress, they are on Etsy.  I prefer Etsy to many others as they cater to vintage and handmade goods.  Feels good to support the small businesses.

I have been looking for various stamp makers online and just kind of liked their run of stuff..

I do believe I will be ordering a few more of these in different flavors.  The pricing was right and the product received is very high quality.

So how do you folks tag the return.  Handwrite? Stamp? Sticker? Front or back?

  1. Oooooh! I've been thinking about having something similar made, but was a bit overwhelmed by all the options. Thanks for the recommendation of 2impress.

At present, I usually handwrite the return, though the location depends on the envelope and whether it lends itself best to front or back. That said, I have read that USPS prefers front, so I do opt for the front more often than not.

  2. I have had mail sent back, because I put my address on the rear. They actually cancelled the rear (with no stamp). When I got it back I covered the return and resent it. After all they didn't cancel the front.

  3. I'm lazy that way so I have return address labels, either from VistaPrint or printed on my computer. I use a lot of patterned paper to make my envelopes, so labels really are a necessity for me. I put the on the front because I have heard a lot of incidents like the one you describe - getting your mail delivered to you instead of the intended recipient. Ain't technology grand?

    1. On the pattern paper (if I make them) I use cutouts/scrap to put my return on so the stamp "could" still work. As I received it 2 hours ago, not a lot of time to play with it :)

  5. Doesn't it feel good to be now in the house you will die in? I said the same phrase eight years ago. I imagine I know exactly how you feel. I am happy for you.

    1. Not that I would ever want to move again. If I ever do, I'm leaving EVERYTHING in the house :)

We will be there for at least the next 13 years. At that point we are kicking Kaylee to the curb ;)

  6. sweet stamp. I generally hand write my address, or print my own on stickers, but I've been coveting a custom stamp. Thanks for the tip on the etsy shop. great variety, design and prices. maybe santa will bring me one.

  7. Came to your site from Karen's blog. Really like this stamp. Just checked out the etsy shop--you weren't kidding about the prices being reasonable! I just may have to get a stamp myself (that is, if I ever stay in one spot long enough to do so!)

    1. Honestly, that's what kept me from buying one in the first place.. When I own a home I told myself.

Now I want to get multiple, seasons and such. You can ALWAYS change the color to suit.
