Of Milk and Postage

Ok, so I was at the MILK gallery last night taking shots of the show.  WARNING: some of the images in this post are of a graphic nature (nudes).  Also note these went through the postal system UNWRAPPED.  The premise of the show is that all pieces have to come through the mail intact.  They are not to be received in a packed state.  So if it's good enough for the USPS then it's good enough for ya'll.

This is going to be a LONG post.  Most of the photos will have no description.  I "tried" to edit all of the photos but honestly there were just to many.  So with that on with the show!!

Comment: this is a leather piece.  I actually think the x-ray tag adds to it.

From the Pen-Thief .

 sushi anyone??

 Another from over-seas

I love this box.  It was done on all six sides with the address on the bottom.

This is my absolute favorite of the show.  It is from a localish artist (Placerville).  The piece consists of 100 envelopes all mailed.  Each envelopes contain a love letter. Oman (artist) also put/cut a hole in every envelope to facilitate a nail for display.

Hope you enjoyed the show :)  If you want to see a specific piece please let me know.  I shot all of this in raw format and should be able to dig out a specific for you if you like.

Now that I have all of my postcards out and this is done maybe I can get caught up to some of my letter writing.  I can almost bend my wrist again..  Remember to tip your artists..

Apologies to .  I deleted the previous post to have a redo with all of the photos.

  1. Wow! That's some good stuff. Great job Dodson, D. Yay, Misty! There's a piece that looks familiar--as in seems like I've seen it in a magazine. Very good work presented here. Queenie's got it going on dude. Wouch, though. LOL.

    Thanks.

    1. The show was really fun. I had to laugh though when I told her that I get stuff like this in the mail all the time. She looked a bit puzzled, as did some of the other attendees. I get art on a daily basis :)
